I am a painter working predominantly in oils, exploring portraits, flowers, and seascapes as expressions of lived experience. My work is rooted in observation but shaped by memory, emotion, and an intuitive response to my surroundings. 

Colour and value are central to my practice. I use them not only to describe form, but to convey atmosphere and feeling – whether capturing the quiet presence of a sitter, the transient beauty of a flower, or the shifting light of a seascape. Each subject becomes a way of investigating balance, contrast, and harmony within the painted surface.

Throughout my work, I aim to translate personal moments into visual language, creating paintings that resonate beyond their immediate subject and invite a contemplative, sensory response. 

I am also an experienced art tutor based in Middle Aston. Since founding Lisa Jayne Art Studio in 2007, I have been providing private and small-group tuition from my studio, creating a welcoming space where students can develop their skills and confidence in art.
